In light of my recent posts being more culturally interesting than helpful in research, I thought I'd post one last thing for fun. A part of me is a little sad we did not have a final class meeting because I enjoyed everyone so much. So here's a hearty Renaissance Christmas wish:
On the Morning of Christ's Nativity
This is the month, and this the happy morn
Wherein the Son of Heav'n's eternal King,
Of wedded Maid, and Virgin Mother born,
Our great redemption from above did bring;
For so the holy sages once did sing,
That he our deadly forfeit should release,
And with his Father work us a perpetual peace.
- John Donne "Nativity"
Merry Christmas everyone, thanks for a great semester!
